Note: This publication prints computer-to-plate. No film. If film materials are sent, they will need to be scanned at our printer's facility. Although slight, there is some loss of quality if this is necessary. The materials listed below are recommended.

	*NOTES: All live matter must be at least 5/16" from the TRIM of the magazine. If the entire magazine is to be polybagged, a mailing panel will not be required and a full-page back cover ad can be done (8 5/8" x 10 3/4" with bleed, 7 3/4" x 9 7/8" without bleed).

File Format Required: Macintosh formats are required. InDesign 2.0 or CS is preferred for page layout. QuarkXPress 4.0, 5.0 or 6.0, Illustrator or Photoshop is also acceptable. Include Collect for Output report. We also accept X-1a compliant PDFs. Mac-formatted CDs are acceptable. Electronic files may also be put up on our FTP site. File Requirements: All elements must be placed at 100% on page. No scaling, rotating or other image manipulation to be done in page layout program. 4/C images must be in CMYK mode in TIFF or single-file EPS format. PMS colors must be converted to CMYK. Scanned image resolution of 254–304 dpi is recommended. Do not nest EPS files in other EPS files.

Font Requirements: Supply all printer fonts and screen fonts with the file, including fonts embedded in EPS files. All custom or custom-kerned fonts must be named differently from the original font name to avoid type reflow problems. Only PostScript Type 1 or Type 3 fonts will be accepted. NO TRU-TYPE OR MULTIMASTER FONTS, PLEASE.

Proof required:

• 4/C ads require an Iris, Epson, Kodak Approval or other contract-quality color digital proof.
• B/W ads require a laser proof.
• Any other proofing materials require prior approval by magazine production manager, Laura Marlowe (888-626-8779)
